hi, you!
My name's Kuba and I love to create stories for brands.
On this blog, I share tips, tricks and all the shenanigans it takes to create unique, captivating stories your customers will fall in love with.
We love ourselves a good story
When I noticed that, I had a blast.
A few years ago, my whole life did a 180. I experienced a reality check - turns out, I'm not as good an actor as I thought I was.
I quickly got over it and started looking for an alternative. Something that would light as much fire inside as acting did.
Having nothing better to do, I enrolled in Marketing at my uni. I also started doing courses from different areas of marketing, just to get myself acquianted with the whole concept. It quickly turned out that content creation was my way to go.
I always enjoyed writing (I wrote my first short stories book when I was 10), so being able to provide companies with high-quality content seemed like an inspiring challenge.
Since then, I've read numerous books, blogs and newsletters. I listened to hours of podcasts, watched YT videos and took part in countless online classes.
However - the 'aha moment' was still yet to come.
The 'aha moment'
'Hey, that's a great story! It doesn't feel like you try to sell me anything.'
My boss told me this, after reading one of my blog posts ready to be published on the company's blog.
To be completely honest - I didn't plan to include a story in this blog post. It came naturally and felt right from the start.
It wasn't a great story either, IMHO. Just a simple visualisation of the product's use.
Firstly, I took that simply as a compliment and spent a few moments patting myself on the back.
But after that few minutes of pure satisfaction, I started to mull it over.
It took only a few sentences to break the reader's (in this case: my boss's) attitude from 'being sold to' to 'being told to'.
And then it clicked.
How to make people listen to what you say?
Just tell them a story!
That was my first gut feeling after hearing my boss' words. Then, I started my research on storytelling and its impact on communication between people.
What I found out inspired me to make use of storytelling in what I do.
I tried to find some good sources of knowledge about storytelling in marketing, especially content marketing. Though there are a few noteworthy examples, I haven't managed to find a source of a high-quality, constant stream of knowledge.
So, I decided to do it myself. And now, I proudly share my stories with you.
Why storytelling?
As humans, listening and reacting to stories is in our nature.
We don't want to listen to marketing gibberish.
We hate when people present us with just bear facts.
We are repelled by cringy, prissy phrases.
But we love listening to engaging stories.
And that's what this blog is all about.
